RV insurance claims
An insurance claim shouldn’t be a second job
After an accident or a storm, the last thing you need is a stack of forms and a game of phone tag with an adjuster. At El Toro RV Service, the claim is part of the repair: we photograph and document the damage, prepare a detailed written estimate, send it to your insurance company and coordinate with the adjuster until the work is approved.
We work with all insurance carriers — including State Farm, GEICO, Progressive, Allstate, AAA, Good Sam, National General and Foremost — and with extended warranty companies.
Good to know
Your rights in California
- You choose the repair shop — not your insurance company
- California doesn’t require you to collect multiple estimates
- Hidden damage found during repair is handled with a supplemental claim
- RVs under about 5 years old often call for OEM parts under the policy
Photograph all the damage from several angles before anything is moved or touched.

Call or drop off
Bring it in, or we pick it up within about 10 miles. Most damage doesn’t require a tow.
- 2
Free written estimate
We inspect and photograph the damage and write a detailed estimate — often within the hour after drop-off, and always the same business day.
- 3
We work with your adjuster
We send the estimate to your insurance company, answer the adjuster’s questions and push for a proper repair approval.
- 4
Repair with updates
Work begins once it’s approved. Most customers pay only their deductible, and we keep you posted.
- 5
Quality check & delivery
A final inspection, then pickup — or free delivery within about 10 miles.
Timelines
How long will it take?
| Type of damage | Typical repair time |
|---|---|
| Minor collision repairs | 3–7 business days |
| Moderate to major structural damage | 2–4 weeks |
| Roof re-seal after storm damage | Same day to next day |
| Full roof replacement | 3–7 business days |
You get a firm timeline after the inspection, and updates as the work moves along. Parts availability and adjuster approval can affect timing.

Questions
RV insurance questions
Does insurance cover RV water damage?
Comprehensive policies typically cover sudden damage from storms, flooding or a sudden roof failure. Gradual leaks from deferred maintenance usually aren’t covered — which is why a yearly roof inspection matters.
Do I need more than one estimate?
Not in California. Your insurer may send an adjuster or accept our written estimate.
What if the insurance estimate is too low?
We support the claim with photo documentation, parts specifications and a written repair scope so the repair is done right.
Can I choose El Toro even if my insurer suggests another shop?
Yes. You have the right to choose your repair facility.
Do you handle extended warranty claims too?
Yes. We work with extended warranty companies and also offer Protective XtraRide service contracts.
