Some RV issues can wait for the next service. These five shouldn’t — they usually mean something is getting worse.
1. Water stains, soft spots or musty smells
Water is getting in somewhere. The longer it continues, the more structure it damages.
2. Electrical problems that come and go
Flickering lights, tripping breakers or batteries that won’t hold a charge point to a fault that can get worse — or become a safety issue.
3. Slides, steps or jacks that struggle
Slow, uneven or noisy movement often means a mechanical or electrical problem that’s easier to fix early.
4. Changes in how the RV drives or tows
Pulling, vibration, noises or brakes that feel different call for an inspection before the next trip.
5. An LP gas smell
Turn off the LP supply, open windows and get it checked before using appliances.
