Not all RV roofs are the same, and the wrong cleaner or sealant can damage them. Know what’s on your RV and how to care for it.
EPDM (rubber)
Common on travel trailers and many motorhomes. Clean with an EPDM-safe cleaner — avoid petroleum and citrus solvents. Inspect seams and sealant yearly.
TPO
A thermoplastic membrane that’s more heat- and puncture-resistant. Use TPO-compatible cleaners and sealants.
Fiberglass
Durable and often found on higher-end RVs and caps. Watch for cracks and gel coat wear; protect it like the rest of the finish.
Aluminum
Found on older RVs. Check seams and fasteners for leaks and corrosion.
