For most owners, a full RV service once a year — plus a check before any long trip — keeps the rig reliable. Here’s what a full service covers and how to time it.
The yearly baseline
Even if you only camp a few weekends a year, seals age, batteries drain and rubber dries out. A yearly service catches those changes before they become failures.
What a full service covers
- Roof, seams, vents and slide seals
- Brakes, tires and suspension
- Engine oil, filters and fluids (motorhomes)
- Wheel bearings (towables)
- Generator service
- Batteries and charging system
- LP system leak check and appliances
- Water system, pump and water heater
- Safety detectors and extinguisher
Timing it right
- Fall — before the rain season. A great time for a roof inspection.
- Before a big trip — two to three weeks ahead, so parts can be ordered.
- After long storage — before the first trip of the season.

Frequently asked questions
Is once a year enough?
For most owners, yes — plus a pre-trip check. Full-timers and heavy users need more.
How long does a full service take?
Routine maintenance can often be done the same day when scheduled ahead; repairs found during the service get a written timeline.
Do you include a roof inspection?
Yes — and it’s free with any fall service.
